Am I the only one who hates fricking WinVista?

I can't get the printers to work properly on the damn thing. They unexplainable "lose" the port. I can't seem to realize if it's a momentary downing in the network that causes it, but the thing simply selects LPT1 and you can get the %¨%#$ to see the correct port again. It won't show in the list of ports, and if you try to add it manually it says it already exists. BUT WHY THE HELL I CAN'T SELECT IT IF IT EXISTS? Every time it happens I have to erase it and install the s**t again. Every time a printer comes back from support I have to install the crap again because it won't see the port again. Now, XP had the same problem with ports but at least it didn't 'lose' the port every single day...
God I hate Micros**t. Why don't they stick to what works and change what needs to be changed? That's why I didn't even upgrade it to XP yet. And frankly I'm affraid to do it. We had a virus spread around here some weeks ago and only XP machines seemed to get infected.

Nope, I`m not even happy with XP, Vista is being completely ignored by our IT group. We might upgrade to Win7, but noone here is going to get Vista ...ever

Everything I've tried to do on Vista is a challenge - peripherals, networking, you name it. Throw in the fact that you need 2 gig of RAM just to run the bloated POS, and you could say that I'm not a fan.

I've been running Home Premium 64 for almost a year & have great results. The only driver that I couldn't find was our printer & Epson was not going to support Vista nor 64bit on it anyway.

I've been pleasantly surprised.

I'd upgraded to XP to get hyperthreading support for my P4 processor, which 2000 lacked. Otherwise, I'd still be using 2000. There's no similar reason for me to upgrade to Vista. Niftier looks aren't enough of a reason.

I know I'm 6 years late to the party but Ultimatex64 is great also. Runs everything I throw at it with no complaints. But Win7 will probably blow it away (try running vista with 512mb ram...sputter...die). Runs snappy on my netbook so far.

Yeah, right now Windows 7 looks like the shiznit, but I have the utmost confidence in the ability of the good folks at Microsoft to completely fuck it up before the release date.
